EU YOUTH CINEMA: GREEN DEAL
EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal, co-funded by the European Union, is a trendsetting project dedicated to a sustainable Europe and presents the corresponding goals of the European Union in a cinematic context.
The project is located in the field of European dialogs and therefore politically absolutely neutral and democratic. It makes an important contribution to the appreciation and understanding of the EU Green Deal and provides an intercultural platform for a multicultural approach to the green agenda.
With an entire duration of 24 months (from May 2022-May 2024) EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal will provide an all-year-long program with a focus on information and education about the green agenda mainly through films. The project engages especially with the young audience on environmental challenges and promotes green activities and habits.
Together with the participating teachers and students, we make a clearly visible contribution to a climate-neutral future and take the development towards an increasingly environmentally conscious society into account in a high-quality way. And this even on a transnational level: Supported by several strong partners, the EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal will take place simultaneously in Croatia, Austria, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Romania.
The program is based on a carefully curated film collection of 25 altogether European films, which will be gradually presented both in cinemas in 19 European cities and as a highly attractive streaming offer. Up-to-date didactic materials and thematically related workshops, lectures and discussions with a number of high-profile guests complete the unique offer.
Together with you and your students, we want to set a strong example for a better future as soon as possible. We are therefore starting our project on a very symbolic date, already on Europe Day, May 5th, 2022.
