Adopt a space

Dubrovnik, Croatia / March 5th – 20th 2022

A new edition of the Voids project is going to take place on March 5, 2022 in Dubrovnik as a partnering effort between the Culture Hub Croatia platform and Art radionica Lazareti. In 2020 and 2021, the project took the form of a reaction to an enduring problem of growing mass tourism in Split. Through the Voids project, we open spaces in the city center which are used for tourism in the summer months, and give them to artists and citizens for their own use off-season, during the winter months.

Within the program for Voids2022, apart from converting spaces in the old city center of Dubrovnik into open studios for a selection of artists, we are also making space within the open calendar for all the citizens and other civil society organizations in Dubrovnik to take part in this initiative; to “adopt” a space and shape the city during this winter season.

All interested citizens, collectives, associations, and arts organizations can register a program by filling in the form at this link. Activities that are participatory in nature have an advantage and the number of visitors/attendees will depend on current epidemiologic measures.

The activities of the Voids2022 project are being carried out with financial aid from the Allianz Kulturstiftung foundation. Previous Voids have been supported by the Kultura Nova foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Split, and the Split-Dalmatia County.
