Volunteering for European Cultural Heritage
January 15th – 25th 2020, Faculty of Philosophy (Library Lobby), University of Zagreb, Ul. Ivana Lučića 3
In order to promote the idea of volunteering for heritage, European Heritage Volunteers created an exhibition to promote some of the international partner projects that took place in recent years all over Europe. The exhibition has been presented during the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 on various occasions such as the European Cultural Heritage Summit and at “denkmal”, Europe’s Leading Trade Fair for Conservation, Restoration and Old Buildings Renovation in Leipzig. Some of its versions are currently available in several partner countries.
After it was hosted for the first time in Croatia in the Gallery Kortil in Rijeka in November 2019, it will be opened on Wednesday 15th of January 2020, at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb. The exhibition is organized by the Culture Hub Croatia, as the main local partner of the European Heritage Volunteers. Since 2017 Culture Hub Croatia has been organizing cultural heritage volunteering workshops in different Croatian cities to address the challenges in preservation, valorisation and sustainable use of the selected sites in collaboration with many local partners.
The opening of the exhibition is also the opportunity to organize a meet-up with the former volunteers who participated in the workshops in Kaštela, Rijeka or Ivanić-Grad who will share their experiences. Everyone interested in the topic and in knowing more about how to join these international projects is invited to join us for the opening and the meet-up starting at 17h at the library lobby of the Faculty of Philosophy.
You can visit the exhibition until the 25th of January, from Monday to Friday 08h-20h and on Saturdays until 14h.
