Creative Hubs: Impact, Challenges and Sustainability

March 7th 2020, Poljana kraljice Jelene 1, Split @ 18:00 – 19:30

On the last day of the pilot project “Voids2020” – an experiment that “projected” the functions of a future hub as a single space into the wider urban area of the old city center, we organized a conversation about creative hubs.

The talk will be held in the newly opened space of the House of Language and Culture on Peristyle, and on that occasion Prokultura – Cultural Policy Observatory  presented its long-standing work.

CHC presented its impressions after a three-week long program of the “Voids” and moderated a conversation with the representatives of the European Creative Hubs Network. The Network was founded with the aim of improving the creative, economic and social impact of hubs in Europe and facilitating networking and collaboration.

What exactly are creative hubs, how do these spaces function, what is their impact on the local community, what challenges they face and how they can be (self)sustainable, are just some of the questions we asked Luka Piskoric, the founder of the creative center Poligon from Ljubljana and Atılım Şahin, the director of Atölye from Istanbul.

The event was followed by Praznine2020: Gracin live + closing party at Academia Club Ghetto.
